Great, another movie people will keep referring to as Jordan Peele's (insert title here). If he's just producing, then we should be calling it by the real director's name, not his.
I love Peele's work, Get Out and Us were fantastic, but give the people actually making these other films, their credit. |

Really like the original movie. One of my favorites from Wes Craven.
I wonder if Peele will have much input here or if Universal is simply using his name given the racial undertones of the story though combined with the fact it’s a horror/thriller. They did the same thing with the upcoming remake of Candyman. Although I guess no one knows if it’s good given it hasn’t been released yet. |

One of my fave lesser Wes Craven films. I know when he was remaking the last house on the left and the hills have eyes. Wes waa talking about remaking those.
Shocker could be awesome with how far technology has come since 1989 when I think it came out. Nothing againat Peele. But seems he was 2 films deep before diving into the remakes. Prepare for some more evil white people. But again they were this evil white couple. Who were maybe brother and sister. Or husband and wife or maybe both. 😆 |

They remake films people love. Cause that reason. They know people already like it and will fork out the cash to see a new version. As opposed to a movie they remember not liking and nor wanna see a new version of a movie they didn't like.
Not gonna be seeing a remake/reboot of The Adventures Pluto Nash any time soon. Compared to the numerous amount of remakes based on films people liked. They think its a built in brand. I hope any of that made sense. |

Myself if am entertained by it. Community wise if most people, specially fans of a genre like it to be good. Same for other side of the coin. Should have been more clear in my post. Doesn't have to be a bad film, maybe some lesser known ones. Something like 20000 Miles to Earth, good film but not well known anymore to the public, outside of film fans like all of us are. Then again john q may not remember or know of The People Under the Stairs. Guess personally my earlier comment is something I would like to see done, but that's my opinion and am nobody to tell or decide what the film makers do.
Understand why they do the popular film remakes, its all about the dough. Will admit there's plenty of the remakes I like. |
