Starship Troopers in the UK is released by BV on 6 August. Should be interesting to see if there are any differences!

Sendit.com are just about to put mine in the Post

Both Amazon and Sendit have it as region 2, but this could easily be wrong. If it is all region I will let you Known when it arrives!

How exactly can this happen Sony? How did you not know that the movie wouldnt be ready for oct release but announced it anyways? Something isnt right here

Am I the only person who sees the delay as a good sign? I rather Sony take their time and clean up the movie and pad it with extras than release another Fifth Element.

Delays to clean things up and give consumers a top notch product are a good thing. A delay a day or two after the release announcement? Shameful and unprepared

I would be surprised if the eventual US release ended up being a different encode to the UK release that is already in the post to me.

The only reason I can think of for the differing release schedules in different countries is that the discs do need to be different in small ways, e.g. UK discs need to be BBFC certified, so they all have to be replicated separately. Different regions may make different decisions about which titles they want to release based on finite replication capacity, e.g. Premonition isn't out in the UK on Blu-ray, even though it is out on DVD, so we haven't got that, but we are getting Starship Troopers on Blu-ray when the US isn't just yet.

mines showing as unable to cancel now, indicating it IS still being release in the UK on the 6th

they are probably waiting for a box set of 1-3 and three doesnt come out until next year some time... umm maybe they shouldn't do that. i hated Starship Troopers 2.

This is what I hate about the high-def market. When it comes to release dates, there's simply no guarantee until the title is actually on the store shelf. It's frustrating to get excited about a title, only to have a studio turn around and say, "Nevermind."

Its a sad state of affairs. Had that date circled in my agenda. Maybe I should start using pencil. At least I can erase as quickly as a cancel from studios.

Welcome to the realities of a format launch (and that's first 3 years)

How many years did it take to get Ed Wood? They even pressed discs and some hit shelves before being recalled the 2nd time
