Default Set Up Question - HDMI/Component Pioneer VSX-92

Hopefully this is quick and easy to answer. I had no luck with the manual reading through many sections last night.

Current set-up:

I have samsung BDP connected to projector with 35 foot component cable.
I have audio running with optical cable to amp.

I want to display my notebook computer on the projector to watch HD TV from a tuner card I just bought. It has HDMI Output.

I am trying to figure if I can run component cables from the amp to the projector and run HDMI from the Blu-Ray player and the Notebook and have that work. Or will it only work component in/component out , HDMI In/HDMI out? In which case I will have to go buy a long HDMI cable to run to projector, and then buy 2 more HDMI cables to run from the blu-ray and from the notebook.

Thanks for any help!

I'm not sure about this one. I don't recall if HDMI in means it has to be HDMI out or not. I'm guessing you don't have an HDMI cable to hook your laptop up to the receiver to test this out with. The good news is you can get a 35' in-wall rated HDMI cable from monoprice.com for about $24 if you need it. Shorter cables for your blu-ray player and laptop can be bought from the same site for ~ $5 each.

I was actually already looking on there to see about buying some.
I was wondering though why their cables over 25 ft stop saying "1.3a" on them. Are the longer cables still 1.3a compliant?

From HDMI.org (FAQs):

Quote:
Q. What is the difference between HDMI 1.3 and HDMI 1.3a, or 1.3b?
For consumers, there is no difference between HDMI version 1.3 and 1.3a or 1.3b. These minor revisions to the specification typically relate to manufacturing or testing issues and do not impact features or functionality. In addition, HDMI Licensing, LLC is actively working with manufacturers to reduce confusion for consumers by de-emphasizing version numbers and focusing instead on product features and functionality.

For Adopters, the latest HDMI Specification is v1.3a and the latest HDMI Compliance Test Specification (CTS) is 1.3c.
From page 4 of an HDMI article on Cnet. I know alot of people don't think highly of Cnet, but this is Cnet quoting someone else.

It's also worth noting that, according to a spokesman for HDMI itself, "98 percent" of all HDMI cables work fine with HDMI 1.3. So there's no reason to buy special cables that support version 1.3.

Thanks for clearing that up, I figure that was the case since everyone else gets cables from mono-price and no one is complaining about them.

I guess I will order them unless someone answers the original question and it is possible to have 2 hdmi's going in, and 1 component video going out to projector (and how to do it exactly!)
