Will Blu-Ray/HD-DVD Upconvert Standard DVD's? - Blu-ray Forum

Currently I have a Samsung DVD Player that upconverts standard DVD's. I will be upgrading soon a one of the HD Format DVD players. For a long time though the large part of my collection will be standard DVD's. Will any of the upcoming players upconvert standard DVD's? If not I may be interested in keeping my current DVD player for playing current DVD's.

If you look at our CES 2006 report you will see that practically all of the upcoming Blu-ray players will upconvert DVDs to 1080p/1080i, so I don't think you have to worry about this functionality. It seems that the companies realize that this feature will be important among early adopters
