Default Help!!! with Upconvert on Dvd's

I have the new sony BDP S300 Blu Ray Player and just recently bought A Mitsubishi 65' 1080p DLP. Blu Ray Looks amazing !!!! ( After the Firmware upgreade) My question is when i play reg dvd's on it, it looks like crap!!! It seems like it's not up converting them to 720p. I set the blu ray for Auto. And my tv is showing it is a 480 source and showing its trying to convert it to 1080p or something like that. Am i doing something wrong... Please Help me !!! My friend in IN has the same tv and his dvd's look really good. Please help me. I hate to but all this equipment and it look bad. thanks

Just curious, and I know it will be a question asked anyway, but is it multiple discs, or are you having trouble with just the one you're currently watching?

if it is like recent sony dvd players, you have to go to the setup menu to enable upscaling. default output thru hdmi is 480P.

Are you hooked up through HDMI? The BDP-S300 will only upconvert DVDs hooked up through HDMI.
