My suggestion is to build two high quality speakers yourself. They will be better and much cheaper than the above speakers. The best thing about it is that it will keep you busy for a while and you will be physically exhausted and not have the time to search for crazy things on the web that will get you into trouble.

Don't get me wrong. All three speakers are excellent and you will have to decide for yourself by auditioning them.

P.S. I was serious about building DIY speakers. The experience is 90% of the fun.

If you are getting into the 1000-2000$ range, I suggest checking out the Totem Sttaf's. Trust me, they will surprise you.

ryan ~ There is no reason to get upset . If you like making things then Big Daddy suggestion is A vary good one , It is true You can build something that costs less & sounds better . I have just over 200.oo Bucks into my 15" DIY & I will bet it sounds as good or better than A $3,000.oo sub . You should try it with speakers .

Klipsch Heresy III or anything in the Heritage line, very musical and efficient. These speakers love tubes, but SS will do fine as well.

Could find Heresy's or La Scala's used from anywhere between 300$ and 1000$. Awesome speakers if you love the horn sound. Good suggestion.

If you are going to use these speakers for two-channel music, I am going to suggest something different. Speakers with full-range drivers do not have the problems associated with multi-driver speakers and their crossover phase issues. Basically, they have no crossovers. Their midrange and sound stage are breath taking. Their efficiency is normally above 95dB and as a result they don't require a lot of power.

These are some suggestions. Most of them are factory-direct, but I am sure they offer in-home audition.

If you are looking at the RS8s, I will suggest the GS10. Not as great of low end, but great detail and airiness. I would pick the GS10 before the RS8.

Ok 10-4, I would like to throw the Quad 22L2's in the ring http://www.quad-hifi.co.uk/model.php...11&model_id=37 . Check em out at the Quad site and see if there is a dealer near you!

+1, you got me wanting to build some speakers as well. When I finally get to make a dedicated two channel room. I am going to do what you suggest or try out those totems!
