Default New Centre Channel Time,Looking for Opinions

Alright so I'm finally ready to make the jump and get a new centre channel.
I want to get something that I will not have to upgrade for awhile,so I have narrowed down to these 2 choices.

Energy RC-Mini

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0087328&catid=

Energy CC-10

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0111878&catid=

I'm leaning towards the CC-10 but would like to here some opinions or if anyone has any other recommendations.I'm not looking to spend more the $400 cdn.

For a seamless soundstage you should always try to match your centre channel with the same line as what your front speakers are. ie. if you have Klipsch Reference fronts go with a Klipsch reference centre, Synergy fronts, Synergy centre.

To be honest I just got my new onkyo 606 reciever and my JBL balboa 10" sub. So I'm just starting to purchase all the speakers. So I figured I want to have the same set/brand of speakers so I wanted to start with the centre channel first.

Since you're in Canada, you should check out Paradigm. I've heard Canadians can find good deals on these since they are made in Canada.

There is no such thing. Even if you buy the best and most expensive product, you will want to upgrade it in a few months/years. I'll guarantee that. It is a virus that affects everyone.

P.S. You should get a center channel speaker that is a close match (timbre matched) to your front speakers.

I have taken back the CC-10 and the RC-Mini center speakers in the past 2 weeks.

Why?

Because they never went with my front speakers and sub very well. If you want Evergy speakers, i recommend matching them up as much as possible.

If you want the RC-Mini get the RC-Mini set and same for the CC-10, get the CF series that it belongs too.

Myself I had the C-500 fronts and the CC-10(this is a BIG HEAVY speaker that dominates) and RC-Mini(nice but too smal for the C-500s) were not good fits at all. The center is the most important speaker in the set up, to me anyway!!! I ended up getting the C-C100 which matches the C-500s on EBay because FS didn't seem to have them.

The C-C100 center., got it for 195USD shipped.

ANyway that's my recommendation. Keep everything in the same set. For me it's all Energy C-Series and building. Maybe in a small room i could have mixed and matched speakers, but in a large rec room i have found that I need all speakers to be from the same set. You can also try playing the with the speaker levels to make stuff match up better but to me it never went well and sounded 'OFF'.

Visit the energy-speakers dot com site as well for recommendations on building systems. You can do compares to see why certain speakers do not work well together.

+1. Paradigms are excellent speakers that should be auditioned. I would also recommend auditioning Monitor Audio's Bronze line as well. Monitor Audios sound fantastic, and the fit and finish, with real wood veneers, is superb.

Paradigm will give you the best bang for you buck(i have total trust with this company and they have never let me down).Up there with paradigm would be PSB.

I would recommend to just look at these brands.
Don't confuse it.
Paradigm and PSB is all you have to look at.(in my opinion)
Two amazing companies.(quality from bottom to top).

And thats my 2 cents

Goodluck to you my friend
please when your finished buying.Let us know what kind of speakers you went with

I completely agree with Ozzman. I have bought Paradigms for myself and my son and recommended them to friends and have never been disappointed.( The one thing I have not been able to find is a Paradigm subwoofer I have been happy with but I am going to audition a DSP-3100 soon.)

The great thing about Paradigm is they have a speaker for every budget and situation and are definitely at the top or near the top when you compare them to the competitors.
