Blu-rays with PCM 7.1

For years we have had 7.1 amps/receivers. So where is the 7.1 content on blu-ray discs? Will any games or movies take advantage of 7.1 or did I just add two channels of amplification and two speakers for no reason?

Waiting will supposedly have a 7.1 audio track on it, comes out on 7/17

Ghost In The Shell 2 import, and that Avengers cartoon from lionsgate is also 7.1

On the games side I believe Resistance Fall of Man supports PCM 7.1.

It does. The Warhawk Online Beta also has 7.1PCM audio.

I feel the same way. I want to see some awesome action movies on 7.1. I hope Ghost Rider and Shooter are going to be 7.1

The Ghost in the Shell: Innocence BD has a discrete 7.1 PCM soundtrack.

I can't confirm this yet but I believe Lair does too.

Don't know why, but Lionsgate's Waiting is announced to have a discrete 7.1 PCM track as well.

Same with Daddy's Little Girls which is out now... I think everyone should get that titles for the 7.1 sound!!! YES!!! Also, the Lionsgate movies that say PCM 6.1 on the back, are actually 7.1. Except the back 2 channels are just mono.

Actually in this case it should be "discrete" (from dictionary.com)

If the back 2 channels are just mono.... then wouldnt that be 6.1?

I've come to find out that not only is Daddy's Little Girls the first Live (not animation) movie with 7.1 LPCM. It's the first Live movie with 7.1 LPCM and 100% 1080 content (almost 90mins worth)! It looks like LionsGate is trying to push the envelope on their releases.

Movies: The Ultimate Avengers Collection & recently "Daddy's Little Girls" as far as I know (in PCM uncompressed format).

Correct me if I am wrong, but Waiting is the the first blu-ray movie with 7.1 channel PCM. Now I was wondering why 7.1 PCM has't become more popular? Is it a space limitation? Is it just not mainstream enough? Any thought would be appreciated. I tend to enjoy the audio quality more than I do the picture quality, and would love to see more and more movies encoded wth 7.1 PCM.

As a side note are the Dolby TrueHD tracks, as they are right now on the select few discs, 7.1 channels or are they just running 5.1?

I agree I would like to see more content with 7.1, cant wait for some of the ps3 games to include such audio track. Correct me if i am wrong, but doesnt Lair include 7.1 audio? If so thats goin to be awesome!
