All Profile 1.0 BD players have a mimimum of 64kb RAM of space to run JVM. It has a seperate memory for providing seamless playback for dual-layer discs. Non-volatile memory is only with the PS3 with its HDD.

Ok, one version of Blu Ray players has RAM and the other doesn't?

But for Java is has to have some RAM, doesn't it? And that seperate memory only holds storage space as long as their power?

I'm really trying to find information on the new models coming out. For JVM, I mean any typ of Java, like Java 1.6, Java ME, etc. And can jars be ran on the players without a CD? And Like with computers, is there a bootstrap when a player first starts up?

You're thinking of the flash-memory that's going to be included with the new players in the fall.

Completely seperate from the RAM being used for buffering image data.

I'm sure that some player in the future will have the ability to run external Java apps, but no, it has to be included with the movie you're running, and authoring software to include that is and will remain very expensive

What about the boot strap? Any idea of how that works or any information available on it?
