Default How much memory and processor size do you need in order to play Blu-ray on a comp?

Just wondering about that. If I can't sell my laptop then I am going to be updating my laptop's processor (2 GHz) and memory (4 GB).

The minimum and recommended hardware requirements varies a little depending on the software you choose to use. Here are the PowerDVD 9 minimum and recommended requirements.

Never go for minimum when purchasing a new system always go for the Recommended requirements.

I would think a decent GPU that can do Hardware Acceleration would be very helpful for something on the lower end. I have an E6600 @ 2.4Ghz with 2GB RAM and I had some issues without Hardware Acceleration enabled. My nVidia 8600GTS seems to take care of the task just fine.

Going by that Cyberlink page, I fall under "recommended" and I couldn't really cut it all the time without hardware acceleration. My CPU went from 50-100% usage while decoding Bluray down to 5-15% with HA enabled.

buy a computer with a chipset that does 1080p. most integrated video cards these days can easily handle it

can you even replace the cpu in your laptop?

Though she was playing it off a PS3? What do you mean by this?
