I Hate Itunes! - Blu-ray Forum

I thought Apple had done away with DRM a long time ago for all their music and videos.

I bought one episode of Dinner for Five (the Daredevil Panel with Affleck, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Garner and Kevin Smith) and it's in M4V format.

I can't burn it to a dvd to rip it later, and I can't convert it at all. If I had known this was DRM'd up I would never have bought it.

Some iTunes Video newbie question (in Belgium we still can't rent video).

Before you download, do you have to choose in which format you want to download?: Apple TV (720*576) while e.g. iPod Classic or iPod Touch is a much smaller screen?

No I just clicked to buy it. It's not like downloading trailers where there's option.

Don’t hate it. Hate has different meaning. Dislike it for what its doing yes. I hardly ever use "Itunes" on my, Windows® pc.

yeah i don't "hate" it, as I like most other things about Itunes and the store, but I just wanna put this on my ps3. ARGH!

The movie and TV companies force Apple To put DRM on video files. Blame them, not Apple. Audio files are DRM-free.

LOL. To Apple and every movie studio...YEP...you are a criminal and a pirate. For all they know...your making copies and distributing them. You may say you're burning yourself a copy to watch on your PS3...they don't know that. YOU are the reason they have these restrictions.

lol, alright then. It must be true.

BTW: I should have been more clear before. The "burn to disc" was so I could rip it without the DRM, but apparantly that only applies to mp3's.

I actually wrote to Itunes and expressed my dissatisfaction, mainly because there is no way of knowing what video files have DRM and which don't, and they responded and admitted that there isn't anyway you can tell before purchasing, and even though I didn't ask for it, they refunded my money.

That was nice of them, I thought.

Yeah this isn't Apple's or iTunes' fault. They're both high quality.

BUT I wish I could burn purchases to a DVD.
