Default Help with Close Captioning on a Sony Bravia

There are some DVD titles (TV shows) that do not have any subtitles (Medium and Twin Peaks come to mind) but according to the box they have Close Captioning, which for the life of me I haven't been able to bring out.
I own a Sony Bravia KDL-46S4100

Any ideas?

what kind of wiring do you hook the DVD player with? if it's HDMI, closed-captioning cannot be carried over. so my best suggestion is to use the component (RGB) cables which only supports 480i or 480p.

also, some DVD players have CC decoder built in - i have this player but i can't seem to figure out how to make it work over the HDMI cable.
