Default Recomendation for a HTIB system?

I have a Sharp Aquos 52in 1080p LCD, Xbox 360 and a basic Magnavox (el cheapo $100) blu-ray player that I want to hook up to a HTIB system. I am looking to spend around $300-$350 for one. Any recomendations? I am also willing to consider ones that include a blu-ray player with them, if my current one is inadiquate enough. Any help is much appreciated.

Thumbs up HTiB

I would recommend the Onkyo HT-S6200. It has consistantly been the hightest rated HTiB on the market. It is also the best buy for the money, and has everything you need in an HTiB. You can get some HTiBs for less money, but they have no where near the features, power or quality of the 6200, and truthfully, some are just junk. Here is the link to the best price for the 6200 - Onkyo Ht-s6200 7.1-channel Home Entertainment Package includes iPod Dock | Accessories4less . It's a little more than what you mentioned, but is absolutely worth every penny. And, by the way, I have a Magnavox Blu-Ray player in my den. I've never had a single problem with it.

Default Hello Similar question

Hello I have a similar question,

Yesterday, I was able to buy Yamaha - RXV765BL for under $400. I bought it because after doing some research, I found out it was one of the best mid range receivers available and had a huge discount. Now, after doing some more research I found it there were some HTIBs that could be just as good and with speakers + cheaper after assembling.

I have the following questions:
I have around $400 cash to spend on speakers. Is it enough to get all the 7.1 sound system set? If not, what would you recommend as a must have speakers before getting the complete speaker 7.1 set.

Also, how does the HTIB, the two that I have in mind compare to this setup. Both HTIB that i have in mind are ONKYO HT-S7200 and YAMAHA YHT-791BL.

Also, are these speaker Polk RM6750 compatible with the receiver Yamaha that i bought ?

My use for the Home theater system are:
PS3 - Games & Blue ray
Directv HD Sports and Movies
Computer - very ocassional gaming.

Thank you

How is the bass on that sub? I'm trying to get my friend into the idea of spending more than 300 dollars on a system, and that one looks like a winner.

Edit: Also, any idea on how long shipping would take from accessories4.com?

I just bought the Sony HT-SS360 and this is my first 5.1 system (and I'm almost 40 years old LOL). For less than $300 I'm very happy as I just want decent 5.1 sound without spending a fortune. (ie. i'm not a real audiophile)
