Default Ryuhei Kitamura

Has anyone heard of this director? He is one of my favorites. I think he does so great cinematography, and has a knack for integrating the right music at the perfect moment.

Movies I liked by him(no particular order)
1.) Azumi
2.) Sky High
3.) Alive
4.) Versus
5.) Midnight Meat Train
6.) Aragami

All except for Midnight Meat Train are Japanese; he usually uses a lot of the same actors and actresses and it's cool because you get to see him in different roles and they become like friends if you will.

I will preface this: you have to have an open mind for these movies; a little booze or gonza sets the mood just right-dim lights too.

Kitamura rocks!

BTW: Tak Sakaguchi has the exact same birthday as me. Day/Month/Year.

BOOM!

I've seen everything by him except for a few in the last several years.

He had to just re-write the Godzilla: Final Wars script. He just had to re-write it.

I don't like that they gave the humans way more time than the monsters. When the original draft was made by Toho for Godzilla: Final Wars, it was going to be Godzilla Jr from Godzilla Vs Destoroyah who was seen as too much of a risk because he had taken in all of his father's radioactivity from the meltdown. So, the powers at be decided to take Godzilla head on and con him into the South Pole to encase him in ice. Then, after many years of peace, Xiliens came to Earth and decided to try to take over. And originally Mechagodzilla, from the 1993 film, was in this draft of the film too. It was going to be an all out war and Godzilla was going to be the one monster army.

Ya, I've seen nearly all of his stuff. Great director...

I recently watched LoveDeath. Kind of a twisted Bonnie & Clyde. Not his best, but it was pretty fun.
