PS3 Slim sound - Blu-ray Forum

Guys I know this has been discussed before so I apologize right now. I found a link at work but cant find it know. I have my PS3 hookedup with HDMI to a Denon 1909. My question is " will the denon always say multi-channel in" I have the Ps3 set to LPCM. I thought some games have 5.1. Or is is it my reciever is trying to upgrade the sound and that is why it says multi-channel in. If I watch blurays I all the pretty lights on my reciever. Or is it something I need to possibly change in games settings.

Again sorry I know this has been addressed

If I'm not mistaken your supposed to change the setting to Bitstream with the slim. Its only LPCM on the older models. Once you do that it will show the correct codec on your receiver.
