Default Identifying problem with faulty BD

I recently ordered Caché/Hidden from hmv. Throughout the movie there's distracting artifacts or noise. I found several reviews in addition to the one here, and none of them mention any problem with the video. I'm going to try to play it on a friend's BD player soon, but I have not had this problem with any other BD.

If you look at the wall to the left of Binoche, you can see lines forming from the noise. There's 4-5 of these horizontal lines throughout the movie, sometimes more noticeable than others. Areas of black sometimes turn blue-ish.

I'm intending to return these, but I wasn't sure what exactly I should write down as the specific fault or what terminology to use.

honestly, it looks like thats how it was shot, or it possibly happened during the encoding

just looking at the screenshots on this site, i notice it in some of the lighter pictures, but from my experience artifacting is always more visibly during dark scenes.

i know its not what you wanted to hear, but I really don't think there is anything "wrong" with your disc.
