I've been a Netflix member for almost 10 years. For the past few months, every new release I have in my queue is unobtainable. They are all "Long Wait" to "Very Long Wait". WTF? What am I paying for?

To watch other movies as well...?
I have the same problem with new releases, all mine are backed up (except for Bronson, I got that pretty quickly) but I personally don't need to watch them immediately. I just keep getting other stuff, and will keep the new releases at the top so they will ship when available |

![]() There are others who use their Queues as well. ![]() As for paying them, like bizzle mentioned you could rent other movies that are available. Last edited by Lord_Stewie; 02-23-2010 at 08:24 PM. |

The thing is, if I go to the Redbox and they're out of the movie I want to see, I don't get the movie either. However, I'm also not charged and given a movie I don't really want to see that much in it's place.
I could understand if one or two movies were unavailable... BUT EVERY NEW RELEASE?!? Not just for a few days, but for weeks? Come on. |

Go to http://www.redbox.com and see which Redbox location closest to you that has the movie you want for rent and reserve it. If I remember correctly it will cost you that same 1 dollar rent fee. ![]() |

i just signed up for a two-week trial with blockbuster. After waiting a few weeks with Netflix for The Hurt Locker, Blockbuster shipped it to me after 3 days (second rotation). Law abiding citizen is a "long wait" on both netflix and blockbuster though, so i guess nothing's perfect.
And blockbuster doesn't charge extra for bluray rentals. |

maybe they are sending you a message.....the "long waits" and "very long waits" are signs that they don't have time for you anymore...and it seems you have lost patience with them and are unwilling to deal with their growth as an individual, you still want them to be the wide eyed new company who was happy to have your business..netflix has fonud a few new partners and even though you both agreed to an open relationship, netflix is giving it's love to the newbs and it's burning you up....10 years is a long time..you had your good times and your bad times....maybe it's time to move on...the relationship has lost it's passion...
![]() btw, tell netflix it left's it's underwear on my blu-ray player and that I will put "Invention of Lying" in the mail today Last edited by Teabaggins; 02-22-2010 at 01:50 PM. |

I loved Netflix but recently they seem to take any opportunity to degrade their service. Maybe they don't want the success that they have?
I no longer use them. I just buy instead. I can find Blu Rays I want for $10 or $13 and I've taken advantage of so many deals that I read about here that I now have a backlog of stuff I just haven't gotten to yet. Raising the price for Blu Ray service twice followed by agreeing to hold WB titles for a month after release finally convinced me that Netflix was just too good for it's own good. They are trying to lose customers at this point and in my case it worked. -Brian |

Sounds like some people are complaining to complain. With Netflix you are still renting movies for $1 or less per rental. If you're saving that kind of money, you have to deal with a business structure that still allows them to make money.
If you want guaranteed availability of new releases, go to Blockbuster or BestBuy. I'm sure Netflix isn't too concerned, because if you're complaining about your $8-15 Netflix subscription not allowing you to see all the movies you want to see, when you want to see them, you're probably not much of a threat to go out and pay $6-25 per movie, to rent or buy them. |

I'm renting movies I don't really want (ie - if I went to the video store I would not pay $1 to rent them). The movies I want are at the top of my queue, however, the top 5 or 6 are unavailable to me. So I get stuck with waiting until it is available or getting something I have significantly lesser interest in that I may not watch at all. I will probably downgrade my service to "one at a time" so that I can get my movies in a reasonable period. If you are a "one at a time" member, you get preference in the system. |
