Default omg, downloaded Ratatouille trailer looks like a bad VHS!

I just downloaded the 1080p AVC trailer on the Playstation Network for me ps3 and was looking forward to watch the beauty...

but but but

what the hell is wrong? just when the main character (not the rat, the boy) gets outside, the whole picture, with the exception of the characters looks pixelated and blurry! and I mean - its bad! real bad.

check it out! let me know what you think - I think this is unbeareable. Must be some really #()&€/)" up transfer.

Don't know whats gone on there but on mine its just pristine throughout. Film trailers off the PS Store I've had problems with have been the very first Transformers Trailer for example which has major compression artifacts all over the place but either way don't expect to see any of those problems on the full BD's upon release.

I thought it looked just fine. Not my kind of movie, but nothing wrong with the picture.

You do realize that Trailers are not the actual movie itself!??...so to say its a bad transfer before its even come out? thats just silly.

Download it again from Apple. Or click here. Save it on the PC/Mac then transfer that file to a flashdrive so that you can save it on your PS3.

I just checked and it's been played 57 times on my PS3.

Ratatouille is one of the better PSN trailers. The only trouble I noticed was some banding around the street lights when Luigi takes Remy out to the river. The quality of the PSN trailers has zero relation to the image quality of the film in theater or the eventual BD.

Yep. And there is some bad banding in the sky there and just after. I checked the bitrates with the PS3 and they get down to as low as 2Mbps, with a range up to around 6Mbps while he is talking to the rat. The first part with the streetlamps gets up over 10Mbps according to the meter. Hopefully they will be careful to avoid banding in these shots with the Blu-ray release. I wouldn't expect anything close to as bad as this trailer has, but it would be nice to have no banding there.

I think the transformers trailer is _AMAZIN_

and the whole beginning of the pixar one is very good too - but when the boy is ordered oustide with the rat, the whole background becomes all pixelated? cant you see it?

Are you sure you got the 1080p one? It looks top notch on my setup. I have watched it 10+ times and can't wait for the Blu-ray to come out.

Ah... but thinking about it they released the original Transformers trailer then followed it up by a second... THEN.. they went back again and re-released the first one again without the artifacts I think.

I got my copy of the transformers trailer AFTER I watched it in the cinema.

The trailer is fine I think- no corruption.. its just. hmmm its dark outside when he first interacts with the rat, and the background looks awful.

Wow... there was a RAT in Transformers... must have missed that one..!

The first part of the Transformers trailer when the Flaming Fireball hits the ground looks almost Pong like in pixel artifacts on mine from the original trailer they put up on the store.. Agreed with the extremely dark backgrounds on the PS store download, skipping frame by frame I could make out a fair bit of compression artifacts around the street lights scenes with the night sky but then again thats being pretty picky baring in mind I'm watching on a 105 inch screen.. Lol.. if it ever bothers me that much I'll stick it back on my 14 inch black and white crt and claim I can't tell the difference from SD to HD..

Wow.. have heard a lot of bad reviews of that film..is that about the best thing on that disk.? WHat'd ya make of it mate? You go cinema to see the film before getting it on BD or you buy the BD without seeing the film first?
