i just bought a wii for my wife (she wants wii fit when it comes out). i downloaded sonic the hedgehog for her and golden axe 2 for me. i have the wii running through the onyo 605 to the tv. the home screen for the wii as well as the online menus work fine, even the games that came with the wii work well. but the downloaded games won't work. i hear the sound, but the video only flickers on every now and then, when it does it quickly moves down off the screen again. i'm wondering, is it sme setting on my onkyo? or something else.

one of the first things i did was update it. i have it hooked up via the red whit and yellow rca plugs, its hooked into the vcr/dvr input in the 605. i've messed around with the settings to see if anythings helps. nothing.

Back on topic: I've similar problems with PS1/2 games on my PS3 hooked up through the receiver. Most of my older games I connect the video to the TV directly and the sound to the receiver. Either that or the reverse approach: connect the system to the TV, and send the TV's audio to the receiver. But with the PS3/PS2, I definitely know to connect their sound to the receiver by way of HDMI or Optical. |

I have Mine hooked up with component cables to my 805 and it seems to work fine. Even with some downloaded games. Mine is hooked into Aux 1. Don't know if that would make a difference though.

Get the component cables for the wii (theyre dirt cheap at monoprice) and then the games should run in 480p and work fine through the onkyo. If not, there is actually a way to FORCE the virtual console games to 480p using the nun-chuck and wii remote that will for sure work.

My Best Buy had one of those after-hours events here last night. I went mainly because I didn't have anything better to do. They actually had the Wii in stock for the event, and they had Mario Cart running on a pj in Magnolia. One race and I was hooked. Came home with the Wii, Mario Cart, and component cables. I never thought I would like this thing, but it's a total blast
![]() I hooked up directly to my Hitachi plasma with the component cables and sound/video were ok. I did notice that the "mouse pointer" seems to be pretty squirrely on my set up. Really tedious to make selections, particularly with the on-screen keyboard. Once into a game, it seems to be fine. I played around with the sensitivity setting, but it didn't really improve. Are they all like this, or should I be thinking about relocating the sensor bar? The plasma is a 55" , is wall mounted, and the bar is mounted on top of it which puts it pretty high up from the floor. How did you guys get around this? |
