Default My new Onkyo TX-SR507 died...

Well this sucks. I think it is dead. While watching TV, it shut itself off and all. I checked all the cables for short circuit. Nothing was loose or touching.

I disconnected all wires and left it unplugged for three hours. The dang thing is still not functioning. Plugged it back in, no Standby light. Did the power/vcr button and no go.

Any other ways of resetting the Onkyo systems to try and get them to come back to life?

IT randomly did this and stayed off for two hours last week in the middle of a great Travel Channel show. This sucks...

Sounds like you went through the steps but donot forget to check the connections on your speakers as well. A single wire crossing can cause a receiver to shut off. I know it happened to my receiver and it took me awhile to find it went speaker by speaker to find it and it was a single strand of wire which can be real hard to see.

I donot know how to reset your receiver if there is away but if there is I am sure someone will be along to let you know how.

I have it sitting there, nothing plugged into it. I have tried it just like that, only power cord plugged in, sitting on my kitchen table. No go.

It sat for well over 3 hours since my last attempt. Literally, just tried it and it didn't reawaken from it's deathly slumber.

please define "new" is it under the time limit to send it back to where you purchased it (usually 7 to 30 days) or is it still under the warrenty limit usually 90 days to 1 or 2 years?

if it's the first, get your receipt and take it back for an exchange, if it's the latter then get it checked and repaird under the warrenty. call and get it set up.

New to me, it was refurbished from an Onkyo Reseller. Yay. Anyway, it has been 19 days since it was purchased but about 12 days since it was delivered. Unfortunately, the reseller isn't open on the weekends but I intend to get up extra early in the wee hours to call and request a replacement.
