What are your worst Blu-ray purchases? - Blu-ray Forum

After seeing connect42's thread on You are proud to own.... it got me thinking what are you not proud of and regret purchasing. It does not have to be a blind buy. It could be a movie that you really thought you would watch over again, but have not touched it in a long time.

I started buying Blus since day 1 and have accumulated many bad purchases because there was not much to choose from. Some of the Blus i own are ok movies, but i regret over paying for them.

Happy Feet-I normally like animated films, but hated this
Max Payne-I loved the games, but this was trash
Premonition-Sandra could not save this train wreck that i paid $30 for
Primeval-I liked it at first, but i will never see it again
The Eye-It sucked

I think i have more, but this is what i can think of off the top of my head.

What just happened. It was one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Superman II, the crappy recut edition. I HATED everything about it! It was cheesy, repeated the SAME GIMMICK from the first movie (sure it was originally intended for the second, but they used it in the first, so having it ALSO in the second turns Superman into a one trick pony), and didn't make sense either! They re-edited it, but now things are out of sequence, some really fun scenes were cut out and replaced by poorly acted and poorly written ones, it was just plain awful!
I have disowned that copy, and await the day the publisher wakes up and releases the theatrical edition, so I can official BURN that disc. I refuse to sell it, cause I don't want to subject others to the horror of it. I needs to be purged from this world, burned to a crisp, spit upon, cremated, and buried at sea.

I actually didn't mind Planet Terror, but I wasn't going to watch it more than one more time, so I sold it. The others I didn't care for very much, so I obviously turned around and sold them too. Those would be the only ones I would list.

Wow you hate that film. I have only seen the theatrical so i don't know how bad the recut is, but i will take your word for it.

I never blind buy movies, but I regret getting Prison Break: Season 1. Bought it based on the first couple episodes, which seemed promising. But the network TV format stretches the premise so thin that I lost interest halfway into it.

Nim's Island, lame film.

Star Trek IV the DNR was so terrible I couldn't get half way through. My 133" screen hides no flaws.

Defiance - didn't impress me so most likely not gonna watch again
Valkyrie - same as above
Species - poor quality, got it cheap though

The Italian Job, Patriot Games and The Sum Of All Fears - like the movies but poor video quality

This one for me too. Bought it used for like 7 bucks and regretted it. I ended up giving it to a friend with some kids, hope they enjoy it.

I would have to say Twilight. got for my girlfriend who doesnt have a blu-ray player so it's stuck at my house. i don't even list it in my collection on this site i'm so ashamed. see i work retail and i see all these TWIhard fans and how ****ing annoying it is and then all this hype on a movie that just flatout sucked in almost every way. yeah i hate that piece of garbage and yet i'm stuck with it. New Moon out March 20th. just counting the f*cking days... shm
