So, it seems that there are quite a few mess-ups with the Video Presentation.
Do we need a Replacement Program for this season? Here are all of the currently known issues: #1 - Relics - it appears that there is a starfield behind the star as seen on the viewscreen while the Enterprise is INSIDE the Dyson sphere. This goes way beyond just a minor technical error and compromises THE major concept of the episode and the setting for those particular scenes. - From a posting on TrekCore #2 - TimeScape - the missing hull breach / scorch marks that should be on the underside of the saucer section. #3 - TimeScape - The energy beam still originates from the neck of the Enterprise for some unknown reason. The characters even mention the beam is coming from the deflector array. #4 - Chain of Command (2) - There is BlueScreen Bleed - As mentioned by someone here #5 - There's a slight audio error on the Chain of Command Blu Ray. When Jellico exits the bridge after his initial negotiation at around the 31:00 minute mark, the swoosh door sound comes out of the left speaker when it should be the right speaker as the doors are located off camera to the right. Compounded by the fact Troi and Riker are staring off to the right of the screen. Minor error to an overall terrific presentation. - As reported by Connor #6 - Rightful Heir - When everyone walks into the holodeck. They used 10 forwards door sound. Not the holodeck/cargo door sound. In both 7.1 and stereo. - Found by Archer9234 from TrekCore Last edited by Gold Ranger; 06-30-2014 at 05:23 AM. |

minor issues, some from the original source - not worth it.

#2 is "Timescape" and #4 is "Chain of Command, Part II." But don't expect these issues to merit a recall. At most CBS might update their HD masters for broadcast, streaming and digital download. Every season has lingering mistakes here and there, both visual and auditory.

In the scheme of things, I'd say no.
Season 1 had some major gaffes so they fixed some minor ones as well... but a handful of minor things wouldn't drive me nuts. These are so much better than what we had before, and they have fixed other things in these versions, so if a few minor things are there I'm ok if they don't. IF they do, I'd apply for the replacements... but I wouldn't line up with fire and pitchforks demanding it. |

Misplaced or misdirected stereo effects bother me more than visual effects, which I can always forgive due to the age of a movie or TV show. On the other hand, incorrect stereo effects make me think I have some sort of audio dyslexia.

If the mistake was also on the original broadcast, like the beam NOT coming from the deflector array, then why would they be obligated to fix it now?
Not sure about the other issues that were NOT in the original broadcast, but the goofs sound too mild to warrant an entire replacement program. |

Regarding #3 they knew that the shot didn't match the dialogue but decided to keep it anyway...
