Default My Dyson DC 15 died :(

After 8 long years, my Dyson decided to quite working. Well, let me rephrase that. It still sucks but the brush motor is not working anymore. Was cutting on and off for 15 minutes and then died there after. It's very sad. This happened on Friday. I took it in on Saturday to see what the issue might be.

They said it will probably be Wednesday before they know anything. I checked all the connections and wires. Nothing wrong. Oh man. That vacuum cleaner is the BEST! Not having one for a week is kind of torture, especially with dogs and cats.

Anyone else here have a Dyson and love it? I think I might get another one for the downstairs as well. Plus it will be nice to have a spare.

For the money, I like my Eureka Bosses, but I know how you feel having to go without. One upstairs and one downstairs. The upstairs one has been used nearly daily for 4 years. I've replaced the handle release a couple of times and the hose a couple of times. I have three parrots, necessitating the daily use, and one little conure who when not watched diligently will chew holes in the hose. Same little bird that picked all of the keys off my notebook PC one day when my wife forgot to lock his door before leaving for work.

Lol. We used to have birds. Sadly we had to find them new homes as they were not getting the love and attention they needed. It's nice not having to deal with all the white powder residue they made. I do miss them though. They have a better home now

Sorry to hear about your vacuum.

I've had the Dyson DC15 Animal since '04 and the thing has worked like a beast since day one. LOVE the ball feature. Best vacuum I've ever had/used.

Wife and I have the similar Dyson DC25. We love it. Our Dog sheds like no other and that Vac picks it up very well. And like you said the ball is the best, great maneuverability.

I wish Dyson would make one that was blue instead of purple/yellow. Would love a blue one. I also like the Dyson Blueprint. I think that is going to be my next one so long as I can find it

Ours has been through 4 dogs and many kitties. It's so easy to use and it has all the features you could ever want. The wand alone is awesome. The ball too - making turns like nobodies business.

Damnit I miss it Lol.

Thats mine too. We got ours 50% off 6 years ago. I have definitely got my money out of it. When this goes out, we will get the ball. Has anyone seen the Dyson fan?? no moving parts. Dude is a genius.

I heard the fan is loud as hell and doesn't move much air. I would have to see it in person before a purchase. Looks cool though.

Don't any of you people have stairs? Those things don't look like stair friendly at all.

I'll take my central vac, all over the house and a whack load of a suction!

I do. Don't have carpet on them. Hardwood. I pull out the want and start cleaning them. I can do all of them but the last two I have to stay down a stair or two to reach up. Hose is not long enough but I can still clean them all

As for carpet, there is an attachment. Mini turbine head.

Kirby for me. Bought a refurbished one 6 years ago and love it. Best vacuum i've ever had and will probably never have to buy another one.

I mean no disrespect, just curious

Awhile ago you started a thread about which detergents you preferred or something like that?

What is it with household products and you?

Lol, it was fabric softener. Not sure what the deal is. I just know my Dyson died and it's used heavily because we have animals. Figured there were others

Got word a couple hours ago. Not a big issue at all. The two wires that go to the brush motor were broken. The guy said it's a common issue as they get older because the wires they used were so thin.

Anyways, no other issues and they are going to rewire it. WOOHOO! I get my vacuum back.
