Default Triple Crown '10

Well the Kentucky Derby is about to begin. Anyone else pay attention to the three races that are involved in the Triple Crown? I am fascinated by the spectacle of it all and follow it closely. It doesn't look like we'll be getting a horse to sweep all three this year, but I hope fate finds a way. If not, I'll just enjoy the three races and the drama of it all.

It's pretty amazing that it has taken 136 running's of the Kentucky Derby to see a jockey win three times in four years. Congratulations to Borel, Pletcher, and Super Saver.

Sad for me. I've always watched the Kentucky Derby because my grandma (originally from Louisville) did. She passed away one year ago yesterday at 85. She went to something like 35 Derbys in her life.

I'm very sorry to hear about that. I imagine it'll take some time to enjoy horse racing again for you.

Thanks. It was still an entertaining race in any case. The track looked worse then I've ever seen a Derby. Just a real mess from the weather.

Is Calvin Borel the jockey that cries before and after the horse race?

That would be the guy. You can't help but cheer for the man with the emotions that pour out of him.

Yes it is, I really can't believe it has taken that long to achieve that statistic.

Well in about an hour and a half we will see if Super Saver can move one step closer to the crown. I'm really hoping Borel can work his magic some more and live up to his claim that this will be the horse that breaks the dry streak.
