I have a crappy dual core laptop that is alittle over 2 years old. It was my first, and cheap, but it can't do much.
So, now I am looking at an i5 laptop. The i3 might work, but I don't want to have trouble running programs (I want to edit my HD videos with sony vegas). But, I also want it to pass dts and dolby 5.1 to my receiver. I have a buddy with a i5 laptop with hdmi, gts 335m, and so on. We hooked it up to my receiver, but it only said stereo. So my question is. Are there laptops that can pass dts. Also, if I get one that is 720p, can I still get 1080p out of it hooked to a 1080p tv? edit: After researching, I have discovered that some at 5xxx cards can do this. It looks like a 5650 is a good one. I also discovered that some (maybe all) can pass 1080p through hdmi, although their monitor does not do 1080p. Last edited by ps3-user; 04-25-2010 at 10:17 PM. |
