White Van Scam

My BIL was at work yesterday and some guys in a white van pulled up behind the restaurant and gave him a song and dance about how they were installing a system for a client and they had an extra unit that the client paid for but they didn't need to install. They didn't want to return it back because they would have to credit the guy $2500 but they said what the guy don't know, won't hurt them. They just wanted a little cash in pocket to get rid of the thing. My BIL bought it hook, line and sinker and gave the guys $200 for a "Genesis G6040" HTIB.

He sent me a text after he bought it but didn't research it. He thought he got this great deal on the thing but when I told him this was a common scam (even making it's way to ebay and craig's list) and he'd be lucky if any of the equipment worked, let alone lasted for 2 months without horrible buzzing, he was obviously bummed.

I told him not even to open the box and dump it on some poor unsuspecting fool outside the outlets or something to get his $200 back.
