Yessss, I can finally go to bed peacefully tonight. Let's be honest, the 1986 animated movie was where it was at. No sappy, unnecessary love story, megatron (for the brief time he was in it) was a gun, the original source for the line "one shall stand and one shall fall", Bumblebee was appropriately a bug, and hot rod turns into Rodimus Prime!! The only thing the new movie had going for it was the chick in it was hot and the action scenes were good. Other than that it was a complete bastardization of the original cartoon.

Oh and as for Bay's new comments, lets not discount the fact that he can obviously be bought out, as evident from his adoption of all GMC vehicles in the new movie. Bumblebee was a VW Bug not a Camaro and Jazz was a Porsche 911 not a Pontiac Solstice... and I don't even know that the eff Megatron was... an alien plane or some crap... no, Megatron was a gun and little kids got shot buy cops because he looked like a real gun when they played with him... awww the good old days. Sorry, I digressed.

Don't forget the 80's glamrock soundtrack. It's just priceless.

I love this cartoon movie.

Will it have region coding?

I use a Japanese PS3 (which is the same region as the United States).

But I am using the French version of Paprika just fine!! So not all discs are region coded. Lets hope this is not.

Amazon.com has the release date as September 17, 2007.

Can anyone tell us if this will be locked own for the region or not??

Many other BDs from Europe play in USA and Japan PS3s.

Agreed but I had this conversation with a friend who told me that He's not sure if Transformers is going to be so great the third and forth around. I then quickly replied "What bay film exactly is?" And believe me I own Bad Boys 2 and The Rock, and as much as I loved them the first time around. I can't say they're all that great after owning them. And I belive you could say the same about Armageddon and Pearl Harbor.

I hated Armageddon when it first saw it, but I got used to all the one liners and such that I like it now. I still watch it from time to time. I liked The Rock when I first saw it, and I still watch it on occasion. And sadly, I only care for Pearl Harbor as a tool for auditioning audio equipment.

Ok so Paramount effectively paid $150million to get the HD exclusive of transformers....

How about on the date that this comes out on HD-DVD we organise a buy day for the original 1986 cartoon-movie on Blu-Ray?

How embarrasing would that be for Paramount if the Blu-Ray cartoon outsold HD-DVD's multi-million-dollar movie!

I agree-Transformers would have been a big movie for blu-ray but now HD has one big movie compared with all of the ones blu-ray is going to have
Spider-Man Trilogy
Pirates
*Fox's Die Hard 1,2,3,4 is also going to be very big*

plus several others...
I'm really looking forward to Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Wrong.

Both VW and Porsche did not want their cars in the movie portraying violence and war, this was a known fact from the beginning of the movie being made.
