Default Best software to transfer TiVo 720P/1080i HD recordings to BD-R discs?

So I just unpacked my new Dell Studio XPS 9000 desktop and I wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions for quality burning software to transfer my TiVo HD programs to Blu-ray (MODS NOTE: THIS IS NOT ILLEGAL!!!). So far, the only software I've found that will work is Roxio Creator 2010 Pro, who even state TiVo compatibility and have a TiVo rebate portal. But the software is $99.99 and I want to be sure it will give me the best quality possible next to 1080 on commercial Blu-ray Discs.

Computer info:

Platform: Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)
Processor: Intel Core i7-920 (8MB L3 Cache 2.66GHz)
Memory: 8GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1066MHz
Video card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 260
Sound card: Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium

I don't have the model on my BD-RE drive, as its a Dell component from my build on their site.

How are you planning on viewing the BD-R? Via PS3? Standalone player?

I asked that because you might not need to burn to a disk if you are going to use a PS3 or some other device using a USB drive to play back your videos.

I have a Panasonic standalone (DMP-BD35).

How would you hook up your PS3 to play back something you have on an external hard drive? I have a PS3 Slim and I don't see any USB ports other than the front ones?

If the PS3 is on the same network as the PC with the external drive you could just stream it to the PS3.

An ethernet connection can handle the 1080i just fine but it might be a bit choppy over wifi, and AC3 encoding will allow multichannel audio, just not Dolby Digital.

Oh. Ya I'm looking at putting my bds on to my HD and then playing them back on a media player....lossless...both video and audio. I already have the Seagate Free Agent Home Theater Plus media player and it works great with my dvds on file on a 2tb hd but it won't see my bd files? I used Moyea bd software. Any suggestions?

It will stream HD audio and handle it just fine, it all depends on how it's encoded and saved to the HDD.

I use PS3 Media Server and it streams 1080P and the HD audio without problem. It will pretty much handle any file type that you give it and it's simple to set up on the network.

The HD audio must be a new feature.

Edit: I just looked and it will allow DTS->LPCM although it still does not do Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD

I stand corrected, sorry about that. All of my videos have been converted to LPCM and that's how I stream to the PS3.

I was super excited too, although the VC-1 issue is still a giant hurdle that I fear will never be jumped

Has TiVo's rules changed recently?

Last I knew, you could not transfer HD content to your computer. If that's changed I'm really pleased - when I was researching it previously only SD content could be transfered in TiVo Desktop, which is one of the reasons I have resisted upgrade.
