So I just unpacked my new Dell Studio XPS 9000 desktop and I wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions for quality burning software to transfer my TiVo HD programs to Blu-ray (MODS NOTE: THIS IS NOT ILLEGAL!!!). So far, the only software I've found that will work is Roxio Creator 2010 Pro, who even state TiVo compatibility and have a TiVo rebate portal. But the software is $99.99 and I want to be sure it will give me the best quality possible next to 1080 on commercial Blu-ray Discs.
Computer info: Platform: Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) Processor: Intel Core i7-920 (8MB L3 Cache 2.66GHz) Memory: 8GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1066MHz Video card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 Sound card: Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium I don't have the model on my BD-RE drive, as its a Dell component from my build on their site. |

I asked that because you might not need to burn to a disk if you are going to use a PS3 or some other device using a USB drive to play back your videos. |

If the PS3 is on the same network as the PC with the external drive you could just stream it to the PS3.

Oh. Ya I'm looking at putting my bds on to my HD and then playing them back on a media player....lossless...both video and audio. I already have the Seagate Free Agent Home Theater Plus media player and it works great with my dvds on file on a 2tb hd but it won't see my bd files? I used Moyea bd software. Any suggestions?

I use PS3 Media Server and it streams 1080P and the HD audio without problem. It will pretty much handle any file type that you give it and it's simple to set up on the network. |

Edit: I just looked and it will allow DTS->LPCM although it still does not do Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Bill Last edited by MrFattBill; 01-19-2010 at 09:57 PM. |

Has TiVo's rules changed recently?
Last I knew, you could not transfer HD content to your computer. If that's changed I'm really pleased - when I was researching it previously only SD content could be transfered in TiVo Desktop, which is one of the reasons I have resisted upgrade. |
