I've heard rumors that this will decode DTS-HD Master Audio by the end of the year. Is there any truth to the rumors? I don't see why it couldn't, it's basically a computer. All we need is the program for the OS to make it decode DTS-HDMA.

Believe me...if Sony could use it against the recent Paramount news, they would. It would be the ONLY player on the market that could utilize this codec. (Sales would jump) And since they have not announced it, it tells me this feature is not going to be upgraded anytime soon. (although I ALWAYS keep my fingers crossed) |

Theoretically in sound there is no difference, but I believe LPCM takes up more room on a disc than DTS-HD MA because it is an uncompressed, lossless codec. DTS-HD MA is supposedly the best quality compressed, lossless audio codec that also has the highest bit rate among all the next generation audio codecs.
