DTS High Resolution has a bitrate HIGHER than 1.5Mbps. Optical maxes out at 1.5Mbps. So DTS HR can't be passed via optical. If you have a BD with DTS HR, there is the DTS Core at 1.5 Mbps that your player can pass via optical.

yep thats what i get ,oh well.I bought my first dts and dolby digital sound system a few weeks ago ive never actually had surround sound so i'll probably enjoy that for a while longer and then upgrade to hdmi system.I think it still sounds great though with never really having a surround system before and i think ive heard people say off here the increase to 1.5mps sounds loads better compared to what they were getting before.

Are there any titles with HR? I looked at the title-by-codec list and didn't see any.

The World's Fastest Indian. A few of Magnolia's early BD releases use DTS HR.
