Blu-ray audio

Hi guys, am just woundering your opinion on the best audio from a Blu-Ray disk?

as i see some use PCM and some use Dolby HD etc

So far I think the following movies have had incredible soundscapes

The best audio available on BD's right now is uncompressed LPCM. Look for any disc (every Disney and Sony, plus a few Lionsgate discs) that has that audio and you're good to go. There are a handful of Warner discs such as The Departed, Blood Diamond, and 300 as well; but skip most of their earlier discs and avoid Paramount (^#$%&$! traitors) titles altogether because those all have standard DD only.

DTSHDMA is inaudible to consumers atm. Dolby TrueHD is supposedly lossless, but to my ears and according to many other users and reviewers, (especially on Warner's titles) TrueHD comes very close to matching PCM, but it's missing something that we just can't put our fingers on.

Just feel comfortable that the BD exclusive studios like to take advantage of the format and please the customers with high def video and audio, which is more than one can say for the other format.

Hi i have a sony bravia 32 inch hd ready Tv and i have the ps3 i want to get a cheap sourround in a box that can do PCM 5.1
so my question is does the sony model dav-dz720 when connected to my ps3 via hdmi do pcm 5.1 with games and blu-ray movies.
plz help me out i live in the middle east and the most top end av recivers in my country cost alot.

I have to agree with this. 300 was one of the last titles that I noticed this on. Once you do the level matching between the PCM and Dolby TrueHD track, the PCM seems to be more... powerful? I still can't figure out the difference, but I can tell there is one. And it's not like a good one where the TrueHD has something the PCM doesn't. It's the opposite.
