Back on ps-2 you could use EVERYTHING at once you could ,for example, use
both toslink and l/r out to a t.v. but on ps-3 it's a 1 trick at a time deal. Select HDMI and toslink wont work but i have a HDTV that does HDMI however if i want surround i need to use my dts,dd headphones so if all i want to do is play an mp3 through the tv i must select HDMI and change it to toslink when watching a movie / gaming. Anyone know if sony's going to update the ps-3 so we can enable any mode we want especially in regards to the audio. When i heard about the emotion engine being taken out of the 80 gig ps-3 i picked up a 2nd 60 gig to use in my room which has a 26' sharp lcd in it. The ee was ps-2's gpu and makes almost everything work on ps-3. My 1st ps-3 is in the rec room where my surround is hooked up there. If you have tons of ps-2 fav's i'd suggest not passing go but getting 1 of the remaining 60 gig units before they're gone. |
