so i went into sony style today and this hdtv took my breath away........it was insane, the salesman said b/c it does 120mhz/fps it makes blu-ray movies and games (360 and ps3) look insane! and it did that and beyound. pirates looked 3d and make movies that didnt look so good like vacancy look insane! it was like 3d or like have you ever watched somthing shot in high def,. (like that bluray demo disc with that guys hand close up messing with that watch or whatever it was) it made movies look that freaking crazy, the set was a 40" but there was a 52" for 4700.00.

Erm, I wouldn't get this TV if you plan to use the MotionFlow tech for PS3/X360 games. It introduces about 50ms of lag so your movements made on the controller will be near instantaneous but the movement won't be seen on the screen until about 50ms after. Lag and gaming = lose.
For Blu-ray, sure 5:5 is brilliant. |

yeah man the xbr4/5 picture quality is simply.. amazing.. As soon as we got our xbr4's in our store man i set it up. In fact i convinced the boss to lemme setup a HD and a blu-ray end-cap. Of course the sony bd is on the xbr4 and the hd on a toshiba lcd.. and the xbr4 just makes the bd end cap look soo much better. I'd get one if i didnt have to pay for college. : (

Kidding aside, I'll have to take a peek at one of these. A few weeks back I saw a 120Hz LCD at Best Buy (I think it was a Sharp) and you could easily see the reduction in motion blur. They were playing a demo disc showing a whisky filling line and the bottles were far less blurry as they were moving along on the conveyor belt. Whereas on the 60Hz LCDs the moving whisky bottles looked like they do _after_ you've emptied the contents. |
