Default Hey guys - tell me what's wrong with these two pictures (Wal*Mart displays)

hey guys,

I went to wal mart today to pick up an extra ps3 controller and a game. when i got to where the PS3 display is, i saw something appalling and unacceptable, that let me request to speak to a manager immdiately to see whats the idea behind this. The employee that was standing by the video game section said that we were told by management to put these items in with the ps3 display.

i took two pictures for you guys to see with your eyes and tell me whats wrong with them. i am sure you will notice it very clearly.

Talk about confusing the consumers and the market is doing a great job at educating the consumers.

Very simple. They were uninformed. It is like selling a 360 with HD movies and no HD-DVD add on. Might as well sell Wii games with a DS.

His response that all HD films needs to be put together, and that includes BDs and HDDVDs. They didn't have HDDVDS on display next to the xbox360, or even BDs. Heck when i said why do you have hddvd discs in there with the ps3 he gave me that look like WAS I NOT SUPPOSED TO.
i mean how confusing is that, to someone who doesn't know alot about the differences between BD discs and hddvds. this is what i see in the back of my mind, someone walks in to wal mart and sees a ps3 on display right next to it lies TMNT on BD, superman returns HDDVD, and 300 HDDVD. let me think what movie he is going to go with. and most likely not knowing that hddvds aren't compatible. this is called wrong advertising.

I work in the electronics department in a walmart and there's a 4-foot section dedicated to high def titles. the great thing about it is it's 3:1 blu baby. my store has alot of blu titles. at least 35-40. alot that aren't part of the modular we fit them on endcaps. so walmart is coming around. they've been flooding in because 3 weeks ago there was probably like 5 titles combined for both format. Sony made vizio hdtv's are the hottest selling tv's we have.

What's wrong is that all too often we don't care about things in our society that ought to really matter, like the homeless, the sick, the hungry...

Indeed, it is unbelievable.

This isn't an isolated incident. My nearest Wal-Mart does the exact same thing; HD DVD's mixed in with the Blu-rays in the PS3 case.

this got to be reported to corporate or to BD promo Group. send a picture in and a letter included explaining why this is a confusing market, because retailers help confuse consumers more by doing something like that.

LOL! I hope people don't buy HD DVD's and try to play them in their PS3. Of course PS3 owners are smarter than that

While my Wal-Mart, fortunatly is not that stupid, I did go into the local Game-Stop and their used HDDVDs were mixed in with their used Blu-Rays. Where at, you ask? Right under their PS3 games. I probably should of said something. You would think Game-Stop employees would know better though.

Default An opportunity to cause some trouble...

How about when we see something like this, we buy up hundred's of dollars worth of HD-DVDs - only to bring them all back and insist on speaking to a manager - stating that they have caused you a great amount of confusion mixing up the PS3 with HD-DVD - and that you will never shop there again due to their stupidity. If this happens frequently at the same locations - you can bet someone in charge will do something about it.
