Default What does the Paramount HD DVD exclusive deal really mean?

I ordered Blades of Glory from Amazon after Paramount switched sides to show my support for Blu-ray. Up until last night they hadn't canceled my order and my account said that it would be here Aug 30th. Well, today I got an email saying that it has been delayed until Oct. 29th. Does this exclusive deal mean that they will ship the HD-DVD copy first and then a few months later they will ship the Blu-ray version? Or is it just the fact that they have already manufactured the Blu-ray copy and don't want to flush hundreds of thousands of $$$ away. If this is true, we can only hope the same for Transformers. Anybody have the same thing happen to them?

trust me you won't be getting BoG. It has all but been confirmed by the New York Times that its an 18 month exclusive deal, so you will probably be getting BoG in 18 months.

Although a few copies of the BD editions of BoG did accidentally get released, you can not find any copies anywhere (ebay is empty too).
So since they obviously already made the discs, they are probably just going to literally sit on them for 18 months and then release them.
