Has anyone heard if New Line is going Blu or any upcoming movies?

This did announce the Theatrical editions of LotR trilogy on HD-DVD and Blu-ray.

i am still waiting for the Extended Editions.

I thought I heard ROTR was going to be extended release only on BD because it was the the only High Def format that could support the size. Was that just a rumor?
