It's not a matter of whether my receiver is working properly because 3:10 to Yuma outputs to all 7.1 channels so it has to be the New Line movies. Every one of them I put in, Shoot 'Em Up, Rush Hour 3, and Pan's Labyrinth are only sending 5.1 channels worth of audio. The PS3 of course is saying that it is sending all channels through but there is no sound coming out of my rears. Does anybody know what's going on? Please help. It's making me so damn anrgy for going out and buying two extra speakers this past weekend and only have them work for one movie.
Update: It plays the 'New Line High Definition' thing in 7.1 DTS HD MA, but once the main menu pops up, only 5.1 Last edited by cajmoyper; 04-15-2008 at 01:28 PM. |

Did you verify this yourself with a bitstreaming player to a HD audio equipped receiver using the mentioned titles?

Yep, works fine with BD30 and (any modern DTS-HD MA capable) Denon receiver. Denon firmware update even fixed the wrong display bug. (Before that fix, it said this specific DTS speaker config was 5.1 even though it was honestly playing back 7.1.)

Wow, a long wait for decoding dts ma and they have the bug.
![]() One would think that Sony would have caught that before release. ![]() |

Kinda off topic but I feel bad for the devolopers, they were already under enough pressure working on just getting dts-ma to work on the PS3... Now they are under even more pressure try'n to get this glitch fixed. I know people are happy that they can play 'most' movies in dts-ma, but all you will ever see is stuff about how there are problems with it. |

Looking at this from this point of view.
Do you think by releasing DTS-MA decoding on the PS3 as is now, helping or hurting customer relations at the moment? If it is helping more than hurting, then it was fine to release as is now, and those affected will have to wait. If the perception is that Sony got this wrong and we have tons of complaints and criticisms flooding Sony's customer service reps along with negative press, then they should have waited a little while longer to release a working feature set. It is all about how this situation is perceived. |
