Just goes to show that everyone has different taste, i watched Dev D and fell asleep halfway through the film! I thought Kismet Konnection was a good film! Not seen London Dreams, any good?

I wonder if UTV will release Kismet Konnection in the near future!

My 2 cents.

Kismet Konnection - Same old crap.
London Dreams - Have not seen, and not very exciting considering the poor music.
Dev-D - A 'classic' with some of the most awesome music in recent years.

my 2 pence

Kismet Connection - Went out after 1 hr as it wasn't moving anywhere... wife liked it. Wouldn't bother the BD.

London Dreams - Had potential but failed to impress me due to a weak script and very average acting. Wouldn't bother the BD.

Dev D - A brilliant attempt that worked. A new dimension in film making.. it is like bollywood taking a giant step in true cinema. Will go for it if the BD is any good.

Dev D is one the most innovative and path breaking films to come out of Bollywood in recent times. However going by the dark grainy look that Anurag Kashyap adopted for this movie , it may not be the best of movies to watch for PQ. But the audio is a different animal . Neo - rock belted out at the highest audio level . Should be mindblowing if done well

Cant wait for London Dreams, was a great movie, cant beleive it flopped. Acting was great and so was the music. Must buy for me.

Dev D was good, a little overrated imo but still a good movie. Music was great. Will get it if the blu-ray is good.

Kismat Konnection was ok but doesnt really have any replay value, so no buy.

you didn't like the music? not even one song? i thought almost every song was good, mainly "Yaari Bina" and the ending song "Khwab Jo", and Salmans solo in the song "Barson Yaaro" was awesome, just love how Roop Kumar Rathod sang it and the energy he gave to it.

In the case of Dev-D he was wrong about that too, for Dev-D did rather well at the box-office.

+1 Justice4All, you couldn't have said it better. I consider Dev-D to be a classic masterpiece of cinema. Its has many layers and has a very human touch. In India if a movie doesnt do well at the box office, the movie is considered bad, which is 1000 times not the case. We all have our opinions, but i will add that Dev-D had a very good appeal and the music also was something so different and appreciated. Amit Trivedi is def a composer to watch out for. His scores defy the norm, and he is successful in giving you that 'never-heard-before' feel. If the Blu Ray quality is good, i'll be getting Dev D. No doubt about that.

Thumbs down My verdict Moserbaer version "Dev.D"

Dev.D has worth to watch. It's so fabulous film.
I watched international film version 2 months ago during some film festival season. The audio is awesome, but, unfortunately, UTV sent worn film, so there was too many noises.

I hope to watch Blu-ray format. But I guess... "most slang will be erased!"
will be changed BEEP sound. Damn Indian film censorship.
Why do you guys break director's spirit.

That's the reason why I don't want watch Moserbaer version "Dev.D" blu-ray.

I'm totally agree with you : one of the best drama movie i have ever seen

I will happy to buy the BR of Dev. D : i have the DVD Moserbaer of Dev. D but the DVD has an awful watermark Moserbaer during all the movie and sometimes publicity on the screen (<< buy online Moserbaer >>)

One question : the making of Dev.D is on the BR or not ?

London Dreams is a good movie but it is not a must have movie

I haven't seen Kismet Connection

I am sure everyone is entitled to their own opinion and no denying that. Dev D is not everyones kind of movie and definitely not typical bollywood masala or the crap we get fed by the Johar camp and YRF camp these days. Dev D is a movie that is beyond such masala movies dished out by Bollywood.

Dev D is like quality french food and if you are used to typical spicy food (masala movies) from the subcontinent you won't be able to appreciate the layers of subtle flavour in the french food (like Dev D) cause your taste buds have gone numb and it will take some time and maturity to appreciate such food or movies.

People need to experience good movies (don't read Hollywood blockbusters) to appreciate movies like Dev D. I am glad that few directors in India are attempting movies like Dev D, Firaaq, Rocket Sing, Wake Up Sid etc....

Re Taran Adarsh, I think that guy is nowhere close to a reviewer. He simply doesn't understand movies... He is a better trade analyst and he understand movies by his instinct of the box office potential and not the cinematic value.

After reading the discussion here I read a few of his reviews and he certainly doen't understand cinema IMHO. He still brands movies into 'commercial' and 'art house' categories. Hd doen't understand that there are only two types of movies - Good movies and Bad movies.

His review of Rocket Singh is an abosolute joke. Read it here He says it is a documentary of a sales man. If this is his credibility, I would rather read Mayabati's review of movies.... I think Rocket Singh was one of the most honest movies made in India. It is not a masterpiece but it triumhps over the so called KJo style of movies, pointless and utter rubbish comedies dished out every year. And I can see why Taran didn't get it.... It is beyond his intellect.

Just my opinion...

+1 Right on Ani. Dev D is a bollywood classic IMHO. Mr. Adarsh or whatever his name is should get his head checked, just my 2 cents. Imagine if this guy were to review those Criterion releases, all I can do is shake my head. ROFL
