Japan PSone Classic FINAL FANTASY VII – Over 100,000 Downloads in 2 Weeks

Quote:
[PSP ONLY] Controller Setttings > Type 4 for analog nub control.
PlayStation®Network Proves Content is King

PlayStation®Network continues to be the preferred source for great downloadable entertainment content for PlayStation® fans. When FINAL FANTASY VII first launched more than a decade ago on PS one® console, it broke sales records and brought RPGs to a whole new audience, and now the epic game has become a blockbuster all over again via the PlayStation Network. Users continue to show their loyalty to the PlayStation platform and critically-acclaimed franchise by making FINAL FANTASY VII fastest selling PS one title on PlayStation Network since the game launched. In just two weeks, Final Fantasy VII has been downloaded over 100,000 times, making it the No. 1 downloaded game for the week ending 6/17 on PlayStation Network in North America.

FINAL FANTASY VII is one of the dozens of classic PS one games that will be available between now and the end of the year on PlayStation®Store. Upcoming summer releases including, Wild Arms 2, Mobile Light Force and Spec Ops: Stealth Patrol. These titles will join the more than 40 PS one games currently available on PlayStationNetwork, including Metal Gear Solid and Street Fighter Alpha 2. Thanks to the longevity, power and interoperability built into the PlayStation® brand, most of these classics are playable on both the PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3®) and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) systems, giving gamers an unprecedented means to go back and relive their glory days of gaming, whether on the go or at home.

With 25 million registered users and more than 500 million pieces of content downloaded to date worldwide, PlayStation Network continues to be a popular destination for premium downloadable entertainment content. PlayStation Network currently offers a vast library of content to choose from, including 200 innovative games, demos, trailers, 1,900 movies, 9,000 television shows and original content. With highly-anticipated, innovative titles such as Fat Princess hitting PlayStation Network later this summer, and an unequaled library of classic games to draw upon from more than 15 years of defining the gaming industry, PlayStation Network users have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks.

My first US store purchase I think. NTSC version without the PAL borders and slowdown at last!

I still have my PS1 discs. I wonder if anything will be updated. I'll probably buy it either way, just to support the cause and not have to change discs!

Even better if I could download it to my PSP and send save games back and forth.

Sweet! I've still got a copy of it on disc as well but I'd bet the load times would be faster coming off the hard drive. Maybe if we show enough interest in downloading the game they'll finally re-make it? We can hope!

was going to post this lol. anyways, i will be re purchasing as i too have the game on disc, however, having it on my psp would make me very happy. plus the better load times would rock as well. (no disc swapping!)

cant wait. i do hope for an E3 reveal with the download after the press conference. i so want that to happen.

I'm glad that this is coming out on the PSN Store. I think a lot of people can now enjoy this. However, I have the game on disc, so I will have to pass on it.

I'll buy a US PlayStation Network Card. Just need a reliable seller that sends the code.

Not to get too off-topic, but how did you resist Castlevania: Symphony of the Night?!
