Default NZ/Aus Digital Copy

So it appears no new or catalog releases get digital copy codes and now 4K are only coming with 4K discs! WTF! I’m not paying up to ~$40 for just a 4K disc,no BluRay, No digital copy this is a rort.
Sorry local retailers, back to importing from Amazon US then. You can blame the NZ/Aus distributors.

No it depends on the Distributor.

Currently (as of July 2019);

Fox = 4K Only (in NZ unless JB Steelbook Exclusive) (Alita is currently listed as 4 Disc for both Steel and Amaray)
Disney = 4K + BD (Catalog Titles 4K Only)
Universal = 4K + BD + Digital (Phasing out Digital)
Sony = 4K + BD
Roadshow = 4K + BD
Paramount = 4K + BD

There's nowhere to redeem digital anymore anyway, is there?

Sony universal and studio canal used to include UV codes in their releases but they have started to expire and be removed from letter pressings. Fox has given up on digital despite switching from uv to google. Paramount hasn't released dcs since around 2012 before uv came out. Disney gave up on codes 2 years ago

Situation is not really any better, being able to get 4K, BD with MA code means I'll keep getting from Amazon.

Awesome. Does that mean the thread can be closed now, since you're all sorted?

So now a BD copy isn't as important as you first indicated, as your only after the digital code..?

Last time I tried, I couldn't redeem US codes here in NZ.. so importing just for codes is a mute point?

What I'm trying to point out is the less value we are getting for the same prices.. but it appears to have triggered some people so I'll get out of here and move on..

It didn't trigger anything with me. I just didn't understand the point of the thread, and what it's supposed to achieve. You commented that you feel some local releases are no longer value for your money, because certain things that you want aren't being included. You then said that due to this, you're now going purchase international versions more often. You found a solution to your issue, what else needs to be said?
