i wish warner will release the tv show "friends" on blu i think they would sell pretty good. come on warner!

Friends wont come to Blu Ray and I dont even want them to for one simeple reason (and I do love the show): It was not shot in HD. I know you can actually convert old stuff into HD but this is a relatively old TV show where there are no masters of the series in widescreen. Even if they were to release it in Blu Ray it would have to be in HD but in a 4:3 format....

Friend was not Warner it was an NBC (Universal) show so it will come out only on HD DVD like Heroes.

I doubt you will see friends in HD since none of the shows to my knowledge were shot in HD.

Sadly none of these will ever be seeing a release on Blu Ray for one reason. NBC shows are released by Universal, and unless they somehow go neutral, which I don't see happening, they will go to hd dvd. I agree about the Friends show not seeing a HD release, since most shows from that time period were not shot with HD in mind.

I agree with you. Yes the show was successful, but it didn't catch any interests from me. I would rather have SEINFELD on BD.

The show was shot on 35mm. So yes, it is possible to re-master the show in HD.

After all, they did re-master Seinfeld in HD!

If they released friends it would have to be season sets because just imagine how much it will cost if they had like a Friends Blu-ray complete collection you will be talking about like $200 at least maybe even $250

i dunno bout you but in the uk its distributed by warner

and looking at imdb.com it looks warner aswell

Universal will go blu-ray...eventually. When hd-dvd is gone as we all know will happen Universal will come back with an aw shucks can I play too.

I don't know where people are getting this NBC universal stuff from, but Friends and Scrubs may have been shown on that channel, but Friends is distributed on DVD worldwide by Warner Bros. and Scrubs is distributed worldwide on DVD by Disney.

The channel the shows play on means nothing, its the distribution rights.

im thinking that aswell i dont know where people are getting universal from! if it comes out it will come on blu aswell as its a warner program
