Default The irony of Amir

I find it so ironic that the HD-DVD zealots hang on every word that comes from Amir's mouth, as if he is the savior of their format when IMO nothing could be further from the truth.

In my view, Microsoft really cares nothing about physical media, HD or otherwise. I believe their long term corporate goals in this area revolve around downloadable media exclusively.

Clearly it is prudent to prepare for this option (downloads), but it is not wise to put all your eggs in one basket particularly where movies are concerned. Microsoft wants to be Apple so badly and emulate their success with iTunes. Problem is they underestimate the film buff's desire to have a physical rather than virtual copy of their movies and, of course, they cannot execute like Apple.

It's called manufactured celebrity

"HE TALKED TO ME!"

I see it all the time at anime cons. Mediocre at best actors hired at minimum wage to dub anime made into rock stars who get hundreds if not thousands of people at the their panels, while the guys who actually MADE the show get dozens at best.

Amir is best ignored. Trust me on this. I used to engage him, but it's best to let him and his little posse exist in their little fantasy world. I respect some of what the guy and his team do, but his constant BS and spin (and talking more about his competitor's product than his own) has really turned me off.

Alright, who the crap is this Amir person everyone keeps talking about? From what I've gathered, he's someone who doesn't know much but acts like he does and most people hate him for that or something...

He's some knobhead who works for Micro$oft, spending most of his time spreading anti-Blu FUD over at AVM$.

I agree guy. Don't use any personal attack him. It will make us look bad. Just ignore him and go on with our life.

There are more important things in life than hating Amir.

If you separate the BS from the information he puts out (and their is a lot of BS) you can get some good info. I really don't know when he does his job since he alway seems to be posting on AVS. Perhaps his job is posting BS (with some factual information to keep people hooked).

I'm also new here. The other day I was at the AVS for the first time. I don't like Amir at all, but who is this guy called Rdjam? (does he really works for Microsoft as well)... I absolutely hate him!!!!!!!!

I think that is the best approach to the whole red ant hill at AVS.
