Default Who makes a BIGGER splah ?

Which of the sides in this war makes a bigger impression ? On one side you have Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Sharp, Denon etc, on the other you have Toshiba, Venturer, LG ( with their combo player). Now I know we have HD-DVD fanboys talking about how chinse players will win it for them. They can go on about this for the rest of their lives, because it won't. All these chinese players will do, is bring the cost of players from this big boys down, as it did with DVD. I honestly can't see someone, spending over $1000 or £1000 in my countries case, to hook up a cheap $199 player to it. Alot of people, go for quality, which the likes of Blu-Ray's backers are especially Pioneer, Panasonic. Since these companies don't make HD-DVD, once they start really mass producing Blu-Ray players, they are gonna swamp Toshiba, as they can't really compete against so many companies. And if people are still gonna be going on about how HD-DVD have our chinese players, well guess what, Blu-Ray will, and that is 100% certain, ahve them too. Maybe not before HD-DVD, but people still won't buy even these, when they come to realise, that they can only play about 30-40 percent of titles available. I personally think, Blu-ray will win, because of manufacturer support, not movie studio support. Blu-Ray has bigger backing in this sector.

a game of chess between cheap players VS. BD discs sales. so far BD discs sales proved that more people prefer it over HDDVD. i mean more people bought expensive players just to own BD. i think the big splash is already in effect.

cheap hd-dud players is just a ploy to stay afloat just a little bit longer. while they may sucker a percentage of the population into buying one, once they get it home and it either breaks or their not happy with it, it will be returned.
