I love my LCD TV and all, but if I start looking into one that is that big......I am going for a projector, especially at $4,200!

It is actually a DLP TV not LCD. But for the money nothing can beat front projection. If you have room for an 82" tv you will most likely have the room for a front projection setup. IMO..

but is ther a full HD 3d ready front projector in this price range?

New technology always seems to have too many bugs for me to deal with. I'll take something that is a proven commodity first.

I agree in many respects, but I was more wondering if there was a front projection option?

To my knowledge, no. But if there was, I would still be very cautious and would want to hear a lot of positive feedback before I would think about it. I wonder what the price point for something like that would start at?

I know there is one (though it may only have been 720p and I remember thinking it was expensive). I'm sure in the next two to three years it'll be a standard feature (especially if avatar becomes the hit people seem to be expecting). (I personally can't wait for the new 3d format to reach blu and projectors).

I am hearing a lot of buzz about 3D lately. My concern is just how much 3D blu's will they make, as it must take a whole lot more space to put one of these on a blu.

hmm...even if the 3d thing fails, you still have a 1080p 82' tv...damn thats a whole 9 inches bigger than mine....

This TV would eat my wall its so big lol. The price seems good for what you get but as stated earlier I know you probably don't want to go projectioin but if I were spending that money I would go projection route. The 3D ready thing seems interesting lets hope the 3D tech actually come out sometime soon.

I would have to see it in action to see if there is a large diff between old 3D tech and new 3D. Has anyone seen the Journey to the Center of the Earth BD. I hear the 3D is not bad. I am told the brightness has to be really amped up for it to pop. This is from a guy that used an Epson 1080UB front projector for the viewing.

Mits 3D tech is not new. This has been standard on their TV's for years now.

Thats what I was thinking for the price, even without the 3d option this seemed to be one hell of a price.
