I wish they would release The Core and Mallrats stateside, I know both of the UK releases are region free, I just hate the damn rating logos on the covers, that and the thicker cases they use as well...

Yeah, this has been out since July 2012 in the UK (from Paramount). Now, almost two full years later, we get it (from WB). Gotta love the way things shake out when it comes to blu-ray releases in the US.

That goes both ways. There are a bunch of Warner catalog titles that have not been released in the UK yet, and who knows if they ever will be.

Not my favorite Ben Stiller film, but quite enjoyable, so I can't wait for the blu-ray!

Oh sorry, I was mainly taking a shot at Paramount. Someone mentioned The Core--that's another one that's been out since Sept 2012 in the UK; who knows if WB even has any plans to release it here. Paramount has also announced Witness (1985) for release in Europe in the coming months. I know I'm not waiting for a US BD announcement on that one...

Yeah Paramount is notoriously slow on bringing their catalog titles to the US. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, and Escape from Alcatraz are two other examples that should definitely have been released in the US by now.

I usually wait on Warner released catalog titles since they aren't discounted much initially, but the wait has been so long on this one that I might just get it on Day One.

Universal is pretty awful as well! Cry-Baby, Along Came Polly, Hard Target, Sudden Death. I mean really, there is NO reason any of these titles shouldn't already have been released here!

(It's cool though, since I already imported them)

UK version has no special features while the old DVD had tons of them, it'll be worth the wait if this has those included.

The UK release has a fault in the scene shown in the picture in the link below:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...1&postcount=33

Hopefully it is corrected for the U.S release.

And when they do get released they are the exact same or worse quality then their HD-DVD counterparts. There has yet to be a single Universal HD-DVD release, where it's Blu-Ray counterpart surpassed it in PQ. I can't speak for other studios in this regards, but I believe most have been marginal PQ increases (if at all) at best.
