Default LCD Clouding issue?

What is the best thing to do to correct this as it appears usually in and around the corners of my lcd tv. Does my backlight need lowering, does contrast need to go down? Any suggestions would be great as this is my first lcd tv. Thanks.

First thing I would do is get a copy of Terminator 2 and go to the THX section and adjust your tv to its specs. It should get rid of the clouding, makes the whites really nice, and adjust color slightly.

Otherwise, if you don't have that movie or don't want to buy it then I would suggest

1)turning "ON" the built-in light sensor if applicable.
2) Adjust contrast down a couple notches
3) Backlight....might.... need to be adjusted although its not likely, it did not really change mine much. But if you're saying its only on the corners, then yes. The backlight is probably too high.

**Just go and try Terminator 2 disc and that should clear up a lot of it.**

Thanks for the tips and I'll try what you suggest but I do have some movies that have the THX optimizer that I have been using periodically but I also put on a movie to look at scenes with color and darks scenes as well to get an idea on how things look. I know it will probably take some tinkering to get the picture I want as each setting can affect the other. I also turn off auto contrast, auto brightness, as I see most people recommend this. One last question is should noise reduction be turned off as well or does that really matter? Thanks.

I have my noise reduction on "low", but I'm not quite sure what it really does because it doesn't seem to be doing too much.

The part in the THX optomizer you need is where it shows the 2 black vertical lines. One is darker than the other(the left one). You want to lower the backlight or contrast until the left line blends into the rest of the picture while the right line is just barely showing.
