Universal Pictures released a Germany Bluray 2 Disc Steelbook at 01. Oktober 2009

Universal Pictures internationally entertainment announced that to 01.10.2009 also in Germany Ridley Scotts success pos " Gladiator" in Steelbook send 2 Disc in an edition into the trade will come. Ok, NOW I have the wind up. Because the German Amazon is so clearly stating that this is a steelbook, I'm starting to get worried about the UK-edition which I pre-ordered. Why didn't the Brittish guys include the new picture yet if the German section already knows? I'm also worried because the helpdesk from Amazon.co.uk stated:

"After looking into your enquiry I found that this item "Gladiator [Blu-ray]" is a regular version. "

Same thing was said about the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Blu-Ray from Amazon.co.uk and it "appears" to be shipping as a steelbook.

Only true confirmation is when someone has it in hand.

Goatrider on the contrary, this forces the idea that the UK will be SteelBook™.. probably will be like Highlander. I pre-order this Gladiator Germany, but probably will cancel it like I did with Highlander Germany.

Germany one is way more expensive then the UK, also the postage.

I will never contact Amazon about this kind of issue.. can't trust them at all.

Yes, agreed on the trust. But with an e-mail stating it is a steelbook and you receive amaray, they have no choice but to pay your return shipping costs.

I did the same before , and believe that Amazon got the lessons learnt, no longer give you a confirmation so easily now

Okay, but if it's been delivered and it turns out to be a regular version, can I still send it back, even though it's my own fault to hope it was a steelbook? From your responses I get the idea that in this case Amazon will NEVER confirm it's a steelbook until the items have been delivered? Or how many days before shipping will they have the (possible) steelbooks laying in their storage?

This only increases the chances it's a normal edition, since steelbooks are more expensive and heavier.

You can absolutely return them for a refund. Sometimes they will confirm, sometimes they won't, that part is a bit of a crap shoot, but still worth the effort to try.

No idea. For me, in Canada, regular shipping is 14 euro for as many titles as I order, and 40 euro for courier shipping for as many titles as I order.

I think different countries have different rates though.

It's a flat 14 euro for shipping to US. I'm not sure about courier shipping.
