Default Do you say Blu-ray or dvd still?

when talking to casually to aquantiences that may or may not know about blu-ray do you refer to your personal movies as blu-ray or dvds.

kind of hard to explain, so ill give an example

for example im a huge nip/tuck fan. i missed nearly all of season 4, because my gf hated the show and i made her watch 1-3 in order to get what the show was like (she is addicted now, how could you not be). however, to catch up i bought season 4 on blu-ray. now yesterday at work i was talking to a fellow nip/tuck fan at work and was telling her the story of how my girlfirend hated it at first and how i missed the entire season 4 and finally got to catch up once it came out on DVD! i realized i didn't say blu-ray and i would have felt awkward saying blu-ray. am i alone in this or to people you don't know well do you guys still say dvd instead of blu-ray in a situation like this.

or if somebody asks you if you have bought a certain movie on dvd, but you have blu-ray. what do you say, do you say

yes, i got pirates 3 for xmas
no, i don't have it on dvd
no, i don't have it on dvd, but i have it on blu-ray.
