Tsuyuzaki said the tour’s staff hasn’t really had to address consumer concerns about format wars, because the “war” is already over. It’s easy to convince consumers that, in terms of technology and available content, Blu-Ray offers the better value, he said. Although Blu-Ray players are $200 more than HDTV players, Tsuyuzaki said that “HD DVD is just a souped-up DVD player. Blu-ray is the real deal.

What would be awesome for blu-ray is some unbiased quotes like this. That would have a huge impact I think.

You're right. It was Eisuke Tsuyuzaki, Panasonic corporate VP and GM for Blu-Ray, who made the comment.

TBH part of me still can't believe that Toshiba is going frontal against the big Three of professionnal Broadcast video (Sony, Philips, Matsushita).

I think being one of the major DVD patent holder must have gone to their collective heads (the Tosh Execs)...

while I like what's going on with this disney tour, good news for blu-ray and all. I find it hilarious how everyone gets all happy and anti hd dvd. if it had been their camp that said something thered be 100 threads saying how misinformed and dumb they are.

funny stuff.

don't get me wrong, I think its great, just humorous how one sided both camps are

While some people might come back and say such comments are spin, FUD, or somewhat dishonest...and they would probably be right...

I've gotta say, I could give a crap. Lay it on Disney! I'd be lying if I said I have a problem with a smear campaign...granted, the guys saying this are indeed my overlords too.

Fight FUD with FUD (but with facts to back you up if someone takes you to task, which rarely happens!)
