Cool, I was hoping BU would get around to upgrading it. Arrow will make it even better. Fingers still crossed for Tombs of the Blind Dead...

Not familiar with this movie, but the description on that link makes me think I'd love it! Gore and Goblin, can't really go wrong. :P

Contamination is similar in tone to Alien 2: On Earth. It's still an unmistakable Alien ripoff but, aren't they all? lol I will gladly upgrade my DVD. Glad to see Arrow hasn't abandoned these types of movies.

Fun, but mediocre movie. Awesome Goblin soundtrack.

Not sure if it was from Mill Creek but there was a sci fi dvd release with 20 movies on just 4 discs . I bought it for the Worlds of HG Wells thing which actually looked reasonable for a disc crammed as it was.

The version of Alien Contamination (AKA Contamination) on the set was clearly sourced from an actual VHS tape - not even the video master that would have been used as the source for the VHS release - this was from an actual VHS tape itself so you can imagine what it looked like.

Anyone buying the set for that movie would be justifiably horrified

Alien Contamination is a lot better than Alien 2: On Earth. Hell, I think my shoelaces are better than Alien 2.

oh THIS movie - it's Italy's answer to Alien - and when the aliens pop out of their human host it's in buckets of blood and gore .... good times!

I have the old Blue Underground DVD and this certainly would be one hell of an upgrade. About time someone gives this the HD treatment.

I hope they also put out a steelbook version. I would definitely shell out $40 for a steelbook copy of Luigi Cozzi's Contamination.

As far as Alien ripoffs go, Contamination is one of the much better ones

Yes! Glad to see this one on Blu.

Where's that Wish List thread at? Arrow needs to pick up the lesser known 80s Fulci titles while they're at it (Devil's Honey, New Gladiators, Conquest, Murder Rock).

Definitely, but the other 4 are less likely. DH didn't get a legit DVD release, NG got a crap Troma DVD release, and while the DVDs for Conquest and MR are good, they'd be better in HD.

I would love a good blu for this. The ol BU DVD is okay but not great. It's one of Fulci's best movies and it definitely deserves a proper HD restoration.

There's a Shameless DVD which is said to be of higher quality, but I remember seeing screencaptures and preferring the color timing of the AB/BU DVD. It looked more drab, whereas the Shameless was very vivid in the colors. Don't know what's the proper look.
